Scottish Club storms to victory in Grand Challenge Match
The RRCS won the Inter-club Grand Challenge Match at Stoneleigh on 5 April. A fantastic day - many thanks to the RRCS members who participated, to the other clubs and of course The Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association for their brilliant organisation.

The Interclub Grand Challenge Match is held every three years and is hosted in turn by each of the four Rhodesian Ridgeback Clubs in the UK. This year's event was hosted by the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association at Stoneleigh Agricultural Showground near Coventry.It was a very friendly, sociable and interesting day consisting of the match, buffet lunch, evening meal and a traditional barn dance. The Match proved to be a very exciting one for the members of the Scottish Team, whose individual successes led to Scotland becoming the WINNING CLUB TEAM. BEST IN MATCH was Boyd, Rossiter & Fox's Sonstraal Gabe's Prospect At Sescheke JW ShCM . Congratulations to Nicky and to all the Scottish Team.
The evening was no less exciting. When we had eaten our fill of an excellent hog roast buffet, we Scots learned how to do some 'English Country Dancing'. This consisted of a very lively Cumberland Square Eight, Jimmy's Hornpipe and Holmfirth Reel, to name but a confusing few. It was a very energetic but enjoyable night for all who were brave enough to participate, and I'm sure, equally enjoyable for the few who (possibly wisely) remained spectators. Many thanks to the committee of the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association and to the Judge, Mrs Veronica Thoren, for making this such a memorable weekend.
